Caregiver Categories for Self-ID

This report reviews how organizations track caregiver status through self-identification surveys. Based on Seramount’s Inclusion Index and Best Companies for Multicultural Women data, only one of 162 surveyed companies mentioned collecting caregiver data (“Parent/Guardian to a child, Caregiver”). While most companies focus on race, gender, or ethnicity, the report highlights the potential to expand self-ID categories to better represent employees balancing caregiving responsibilities.
