Inclusive Hiring Strategies for Challenging Times: Balancing Efficiency and Equity 

Alex is a Senior Director for Partner Development and oversees the Health Care, Insurance, Biotech and the Non-profit sectors at Seramount. She is responsible for supporting new partner organizations by setting them up for success in unlocking the value of Seramount’s DEI research membership.

Alex is an experienced public health professional with more than 15 years of expertise addressing social determinants of health/HRSN and health equity in the public and private health care sector. She’s leveraged her health care experience to address social determinants of health and implement health care IT for the federal government and served as a local elected official in Washington, DC. She is passionate about equity, justice, and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive professionally in the workplace.

Alex holds a BA in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Public Health in Community Health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. When she is not working, you might find Alex listening to podcasts on 2x speed, teaching roller skate classes, or serving her community in Washington, DC.

Brian Joseph is the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition for Aerotek North America. He has over 10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition and has been instrumental in creating and implementing an inclusive recruitment strategies for the company. Along with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Brian is also a Certified Diversity Professional and has his certification in Strategic Talent Acquisition. Brian works closely with Aerotek’s DEI team to build a diverse strategy for talent. He is also the Co-Chair of the BIPOC – Communities of Color ERG where he focuses on increasing access and advocacy/ sponsorship for its members.

Megan Pierouchakos is a senior director and membership relationship advisor at Seramount. In her role at Seramount, Megan advises Fortune 100 & 500 companies on their talent and DEI initiatives. Prior to Seramount, Megan spent 15 years in corporate roles as a Talent & DEI practitioner spanning the entire talent lifecycle. Most recently, she was Vice President of Human Resources at the American Bankers Association (ABA) where she set the strategic direction for learning and development, talent management, and succession planning. Prior to that, Megan was the Workforce Diversity Manager in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Freddie Mac.

She was recently a part-time adjunct faculty member with the Georgetown HRM program, served a two-year term on the Georgetown HRM Advisory Board, and was a strategic plan task force member with the Centre for Global Inclusion. Megan holds a SPHR certification from HRCI and a Prosci ADKAR Change Management Certification.

Megan received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College with a dual major in International Relations and Spanish and has a graduate degree from Georgetown University in HR Management. She resides in Northern Virginia with her family and actively volunteers with the Girl Scouts of America and other youth organizations her children participate in.
